Ezell Honored for Service
A special presentation at the fourth annual Dr. L.D. McLaughlin Benefit honored Mr. Larry Ezell for over 30 years of service on the Dale County Healthcare Authority. The event held on August 25, 2016 consisted of the unveiling of a portrait that will be permanently displayed within the hospital along with other past leaders that contributed to the success of Dale Medical Center over the years.
Mr. Larry Ezell born July 30, 1945 in rural Dale County and has remained a lifetime resident of Dale County. He is a graduate of Ariton High School. Upon graduation from High Scholl Larry enrolled and graduated from the Alabama Banking School and has enjoyed a very successful 50 banking career in banking with Farmers and Merchants Bank, Colonial Bank and is currently with The Commercial Bank of Ozark.
Having been raised in rural Dale County on a farm, Larry remained active as a Livestock farmer when he was not at his desk at the bank. His wife, Mrs. Ruby J. Sanders Howell have 2 daughters, 2 sons, and 7 grandchildren.
Larry is well known throughout the community as a leader and a servant. He has given willingly of his time and talent to serve in so many capacities and leadership roles. He has never hesitated to take on tough issues to make Dale County and the organizations he is serving or representing better for our community. Areas of service include:
• Member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church for 62 years.
• Elected to Dale County Board of Education 1993 to present.
• Chairman of Dale County Soil and Water Conservation Board.
• Board of Directors of The Commercial Bank of Ozark
• Served as Board of Directors for Dale County Farmers Cooperative
Tonight we are honoring Mr. Larry Ezell for 30 years of service on the Dale Medical Center Executive Board. Mr. Larry Ezell has served on the Executive board since 1985 and is the current Chairman of the Board. His extensive knowledge in banking and finance has help steer the hospital through turbulent financial waters over the years.
Tonight, a portrait of Mr. Larry Ezell will be unveiled honoring his many years of devoted service to our community and Dale Medical Center. The Portrait will be hung in a place of honor, beside the other great leaders contributing to the success of Dale Medical Center and the health and well-being of the citizens we serve.
