Biography:
Jeffery L. Walding, MD, FACS, a Wiregrass native, is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Dr. Walding has returned to his hometown to provide his patients with care that is directed at each patient's individual and unique needs.Dr. Walding attended Samford University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine. Dr. Walding remained in the southeast fulfilling his obligations in order to become a highly trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Dr. Walding completed his intern year in surgery at Wake Forest University before finishing his general surgery training at Mercer University where he won numerous awards including outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Surgeon as well as Trauma Resident of the Year. During his general surgery training, he performed numerous presentations at national meetings.
Upon completion of General Surgery residency, Dr. Walding commenced a fellowship at the University of Mississippi where he specialized in advanced wound care and body contouring techniques including the Passot (no vertical scar) breast reduction. Dr. Walding completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. During this time, he trained in all aspects of plastic surgery including cosmetic surgery, microsurgery, wound reconstruction, breast reconstruction and hand surgery. He is a member in multiple societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
